I think that this quote means whether you do good or bad it's still going to affect you in the future.  I think that this quote also means doing good right now will affect you as a person in the future. Also doing bad is going to affect you as a person right now or in the future.

If you feel that you know what's right then you should do it. I think that this quote also means that you have to think about things before you decide on choosing. For example if a cashier gives me a extra 5$ back on accident and I saw I would think to myself "is it right or wrong" to tell the cashier that they gave me extra change.
